Office Space near the Barbican

Built in the 1960’s, the Barbican Complex was hailed at the time as a village of the future. Almost 60 years later, its unique Brutalist architecture stands out in stark contrast to the City of London that surrounds it, but whether it has stood the test of time is still very much up for debate.

In the mid 1990’s start-up businesses had very limited choices when looking for office space in the City. In order to secure cost effective workplaces many of these businesses looked to the flats of the Barbican for a flexible solution.

While starting your business from a flat in the Barbican is an idea we love, today’s start-ups don’t need flats for flexibility. In recent years start-ups have been spoilt for choice in the City of London, with landlords offering serviced offices, coworking memberships and virtual offices.
